70% Behind Me

With 6 radiation treatments to go, I'm finally 'warming up' to the radiation place and people.  Or, to put it honestly, I'm not seething every time I go to radiation now.  I head in like a pro and get it done.  Had my Monday meeting with my radiation oncologist this morning.  She says my skin looks good.  I have quite the tan in my armpit area but it's not burned so I will take a tan any day of the week.  I'll have to continue to lotion the radiation zone 4 weeks after radiation ends but that's okay.

I also have an ache deep in my chest, between my pectoral muscle and scapular in my back.  Probably aggravated from an upper body workout on Saturday but my right side isn't hurting.  I asked my RO about that and she said the ache is normal and my left side is expected to be more sensitive going forward, probably for a month after radiation.  Good to know.

After my appointments this morning, I met one of my college friends and sorority sisters at HER surgical oncology appointment (a follow up - she's on the other side with a full head of hair but she did have the 'red devil' chemo treatment and I am in awe that she went through that PLUS my treatment of taxol) and then we had coffee in the hospital cafeteria.  Are we that old that this is where we are meeting?  Apparently, yes.  It was good to catch up on life and chat about the latest happenings in our cancer journeys.

Fatigue is hitting me now.  I am really dragging this afternoon and I didn't even workout this morning.  So off I go to nap and will be back in radiation tomorrow morning at 8:00am. xo J
