2/20 Radiations Down
While I will continue to despise the radiation process, I think I've found a ray of light. After having my simulation at 2:15pm on Tuesday and my first round at 4:00pm yesterday, the 8:30am slot was SO MUCH BETTER. Why? No people. I was the first one. The claustrophobic internal waiting room was EMPTY. My nurses were super nice. It was on time (the 4pm ran SO late) and I was done at 8:45am. Also, I went straight to radiation from my 6:45-7:45am workout, so I was riding an endorphin high when I arrived; it felt good rolling in there from 'leg day'. Take that cancer.
So maybe this is the magic mix - workout, head to early radiation, and then home for shower, lotion, breakfast. The rest of my radiation appointments are anywhere between 7:45 and 8:30am.
Also, let's chat for one second about lotion - I have to lotion up a huge area of my chest, neck and shoulder 3 times a day. Fine. Except all I can think about is the movie "Silence of the Lambs" and the movie line, "It rubs the lotion on its skin." So really, negative connotations everywhere.
10% done. Onward. xo J
