Post Chemo Day Seven and Prep for Thanksgiving

It's been a funny few days.  Wednesday night, I could not sleep.   Not one wink.  I was hopped up on steroids from my premeds and sleep was impossible, even with an Ativan.  Finally fell asleep at 4:30am on Thursday morning, missing my 5:30am workout.  I did briefly think I should just roll over to the gym and workout until I passed out.  I slept until 8:30am and then got up for the day.  Went to a later workout and spent the day trolling around my house.

Finally slept well last night although I'm still hopped up on steroids (tomorrow's crash should be spectacular) as I can tell by my red face and jittery hands.  I can't yet tell if the new meds are working or not because the steroids are running the show right now.  I certainly hope they do  trick.

This morning, I did a workout, walked with a friend, and continued to pack towards our Thanksgiving trip.  It's an interesting pack, including such things as swim shirts, Candace and her gear, protein shakes, and a pharmacy full of drugs unseen in this household ever. My team wants me to take a thermometer, stay out of the sun entirely, and think about bringing a SPF umbrella.  I am bringing more linen pants than I ever have, long sleeve blouses, 3 giant beach hats, and a huge bag of Blue Lizard sunscreen.

I have a drug plan for the travel day, Sunday.  First, take an Ativan upon arrival at the airport.  Once boarded on the first flight, take a shot of Benadryl.  On second flight, which will be approximately 4 hours later, take another shot of Benadryl.  I should be good and out for the entire trip, and I hope the pre-load of Benadryl aborts any possibility of an allergic reaction.  My poor husband will have to propel me from plane to plane.  I'm bringing a small sunscreen on the plane to lather up when we arrive in Jamaica.  Will be wearing a mask the entire way.

If you are spiritual, please say a little prayer for me. I hope to make it in one piece.  xo J
