How it's Going in Jamaica
Other than the fall, it's been manageable here. Yesterday, I got a workout in, had lunch with my girls, napped both on the beach with them (with long sleeve shirt, linen pants, big hat, and beach towels over my feet) and then later in our room. Got my act together, put on a dress and Candace and went to one of the resort restaurants for dinner with the entire family. Collapsed into bed before 9:00 with ice on my back.
I'm icing my back and taking Tylenol regularly. Shockingly, it's still not bruised; I'm not sure how it's not. I'm putting compresses on the cyst on my shoulder. And doing all the cancer maintenance.
Honestly, without those 2 unexpected ailments, I'd be doing pretty well overall. I feel like the Gabapentin is working to eliminate the burning-from-the-inside-out feeling. (Knock wood.) Tuesday (today) is my tired day, so I anticipate more naps (maybe on the beach) later. We have dinner at the villa tonight so I don't have to worry about make up and getting dressed up. And it's hair washing day - both a blessing (clean!) and a curse (hair falls out like crazy).
I'm a little sad about these ailments because I'm skipping chemo this week and have been looking forward to a break; I wanted to see how my body starts comes back from treatment. Does the fatigue go away a little? Will the drug haze lift or am I taking too many meds every day for that to stop? I hear some people get back to 'normal' quickly and others it takes 3 to 4 weeks to process all the meds out. Also, I was hoping to golf later in the week as I got stronger but my back might not allow it.
I'm sitting at the dining table on the covered porch in the villa. It rained hard last night but it's just cloudy now. I got an early workout in this morning with weights and rowing (somehow the erg doesn't hurt but the recumbent bike was a no go) and joined the family for the big breakfast.
Time to decide what to do today - stay tuned. xo J
