Chemo Day Two - Chemo Couture

It's 8:00am and I again find myself strangely excited about heading in to chemo.  I am sure that's because I love checking things off of a list, and another chemo gets me one day closer to being done with cancer.

I also find myself slightly obsessed with what I am wearing to chemo.  As if anyone in the infusion area actually gives a fuck about what someone else is wearing.  We are all in our own private hells in that waiting room.  But you know I love a good, well-thought-out outfit.  And I'll be damned if I won't look at least somewhat cool heading to chemo. Like maybe I walked into the wrong office?  "Is this orthopedics?"

The look I'm going for is "NYC 30-something running errands".  And I only say that because of my new fascination with high-end baseball hats.  Cashmere baseball cap, either matching cashmere pants set or wider leg lounge pants with cardigan.  Tank top under all (to help the nurse access the port in my chest).  White sneakers.  Big scarf wrapped around.  Wool coat (when it's time for that).  Add a Starbucks coffee in my hand and I'm running over to Soho to pick up my drycleaning.

Here is the look from Chemo Day Two:

Vince black cashmere baseball cap, Perfect White Tee tank top, LouLou Studio Cardigan, Hermes scarf, Vuori Pants.  All things I would wear normally ("normalcy") other than the Vuori pants. While most of these layers will come off during the vital signs portion of my session, I don't feel like I LOOK like cancer patient. Gotta run and put lidocaine on my port to numb it. xo J
